Daily Journal Continued September 19,1999, By William Thomas Thompson The opening of the show of my 300foot Revelation art,City Museum. On a rainy stormy September Sunday in Saint Louis with breakfast looking at the great arch over looking the Mississippi River on a sad day with coastal North Carolina flooded from hurricane Floyd with 100,000 pigs drown and a million chickens. We waited 7 stops for an elevator with space for two until they finally sent for us in the freight elevator to eat a bowl of rice that was very nice. The City Museum through December 15,a most creative place. Arriving early to take digitalpictures of this monster Revelation art that hung like a wall in wide circles on the third floor of a most unusual museum with the happy sounds of children that charms the atmosphere. Soon it seemed the platters of plenty appeared in the air like walking food and the sound lessened to a group look-ing to me to explain why I did all this and how. I was introduced by John Foster, head of Envision of St.Louis with great respect. I began to speak from my heart a message that is deeply rooted with in me,I recited my experience in receiving this special vision to paint art after seeing the coming of the Lord and the world as on fire. I remembered the struggle thereafter to live in a hot borr-owed house and to keep secret this thing that had happened to me. We had mastered the business of decorating the world and gathered millions but now lost it all and was paralyzed in hands and feet. At this time my voice left me and I could not speak for the emot-ion I felt come over me. I weep for joy while people weep that do see the Word of God in art form revealed in this primitive way. I could not read the 5 pages of prepared speech. I had fifty copies made already and ask people to take one. Paintings poured out of me like a river those first 3 years as my family was terrified at the sight of it but thought I would recover soon and return to enterprise to redeem the family from this new pit of poverty that I put them in. I tried to return to the comfortable life but this was not to be. I yielded to this new command without question and never stopped for reason to compare with any conventional method. My sights stayed put on a future far from this world of dollars,I felt the mission but never questioned the purpose. The painting I now see as a ministry and not me,the vision I see is to paint art and it all ministers to me. How I paint I cannot describe. I just think it and it seems to be,from God the creator and not from me. Its all a ministry to me,they call it spiritual from inside. Someone ask if I own it and I do,I never thought of selling it or giving it to be limited in any way. The burden of carrying it and showing it I gladly bear. The Lord provided a place for us and to share this mission with many. My Heavenly Father owns the cattle on a thousands hills and if I have a need the lights are always on up there. We had a 100 acres and more that vanished overnight. Man is foolish to think he owns anything. A tourist and hotel tax totals 15 percent here. If they can tax it then we do not own it. A prayer of faith at this time of world crisis, earthquakes. I feel that my life has just begun. I like the billboard sign out near the airport that says"The beginning is near"by Billy Graham. Life is forever, why all the fuss about age? Live and breathe this great air God planted within us,exercise and eat the so wonderful food provided from the foundation of the earth all in God's plan.
